The immediate past Chairman of the Nigeria Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), Bola Oyebamiji, has emerged as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the 2026 governorship election in Osun State.
Oyebamiji was unanimously affirmed at the party’s governorship primary, polling the votes of all 1,660 accredited delegates.
He was nominated by Kunle Adegoke, SAN, and seconded by Senator Babajide Omoworare.
After the nominations, the Chairman of the APC primary election committee, Governor Monday Okpebholo, called for a voice vote, which was overwhelmingly in favour of Oyebamiji.
Declaring the result, Okpebholo said: “By the power conferred on me as Chairman of the primary committee, I hereby declare Bola Oyebamiji, AMBO, as the candidate of our party.”
